Johnson pleaded guilty on Jan. 17 to one count of conspiracy and two counts of bank fraud. Johnson is scheduled to be sentenced May 1. Williams pleaded guilty Monday to one count of conspiracy, 12 counts of bank fraud and two counts of wire fraud. Williams is scheduled to be sentenced May 30.

During the ongoing investigation, detectives were able to identify 29-year-old Christopher Williams of the 4300 block of Lakeshore Drive as the alleged shooter. A warrant was procured for Williams charging him with one count of attempted second-degree murder.

Shreveport police detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who is responsible for a simple robbery of an individual and attempted kidnapping that occurred in the parking lot of a business in the 3600 block of Hollywood Avenue on Sunday.

On Feb. 8, a Shreveport police officer responded in reference to domestic trouble. The victim claimed her grandmother was being attacked by Leroy Thompson Jr., 65, of 3102 Milam St. during an argument about his cell phone. She said he was striking her grandmother with a car antenna.

Shreveport police were dispatched to Big D’s Barbecue at 101 N. Common St. last Friday, Feb. 8. The suspect, 49-year-old Juan Ramon Valencia-Cardenas, entered the business and armed himself with a metal pipe and hit the victim across the head, causing lacerations and bruises.

Jurors in Caddo District Judge Erin Leigh Waddell Garrett’s courtroom deliberated only 25 minutes before returning guilty verdicts against 29-year-old Ja’Kyron Mandell Reed of Shreveport, Reed was arrested Jan. 16, 2018, after officers observed suspicious activity at a closed car lot at Hollywood Avenue and West Canal Street.

The seven-man, five-woman jury deliberated for about an hour before returning with a unanimous verdict that 25-year -old Kenny Ray McKnight entered the bedroom of a juvenile female relative on July 19, 2017, and sodomized her before leaving the scene.
